Blackened is an original song by Nynthixia-P featuring Xin Hua, and especially using her Power voicebank, aired on January 1st. The song is not in any particular known series. It is featured in the album Psycho Ending.

Background

The song is about a private fan-project called Danganloid, and especially the project 8. In this one, Xin Hua has to confront the protagonist after having learnt all the students have all been manipulated by the mastermind. Remembering about all what happened to her in the past, before waking up with no or few memories in a classroom and forced to play a killing game, she snaps and decides to kill the mastermind to end the game. However, the protagonist tries to explain to Xin Hua by doing this, she would herself become the next "blackened", or the next culprit, and that all people of China watching her would continue to enjoy the game, which would be the exact oppositive of what all the students want.

The producer explained that she wanted a creepy-sounding Xin Hua for this song, thus opting for the Power voicebank she considered as less childish as her Natural one. By looking at the lyrics, it becomes clear the character is insane and enraged at the same time.

A big part of the story was not revealed on the blog but the song leaves a lot of clues as of the original story and reveals spoilers on the previous committed crimes:

• "An artificial human against an idol" refers to the first crime
• "then an enchantress who gone mad" refers to a second murder where madness seemed to be the motive
• "A brother who avenged his murderous sister in a cruel way" refers to a third murder organized by one of the female students against another one, but her plan backlashed and she got murdered instead, then her brother decided to avenge her sister by killing the one she wanted to target
• "A psychotic woman killed the youngest student for a cure" refers to the fifth murder but fourth case where an ill girl decided to kill the youngest student to get what could possibly heal her
• "A girl discovered the truth before being brutally poisoned" refers to the last murder and case where a student uncovered the truth about the game but was killed by either the mastermind either one of her accomplices

Some Chinese vocal synthesizer characters can easily be recognized thanks to their roles or some of their traits:

• the first case potentially refers to Zing (murderer) and potentially Yuecheng (victim)
• the second case does not tell much by itself, but the "enchantress" could refer to the Sharpkeyloid Huan Xiaoyi
• the third case refers at least to Yuezheng Longya (final murderer) and Ling (who decided to commit the murder first)
• the fourth case refers to Mo Qingxian as being the murderer, and potentially Zhiyu Moke as the victim, being only 14 of age
• the fifth case does not tell anything by itself

However the project remaining private by itself, it is very difficult to guess well who is who without knowing anything about it.
